New God of War game rumoured for PSP

This has to be a record week for PSP news. Not only was a raft of triple-A releases announced, including Assassin’s Creed and LittleBigPlanet, but there were rumours of GTA: San Andreas Stories and a new Silent Hill game, and David Perry announced on Twitter that the next PSP will be UMD-free.

And now, to top it all off, manufacturer of our favourite podcast, Joystiq, has learned from an unnamed source that Ready at Dawn, the developer behind God of War: Chains of Olympus (pictured), is working on a new God of War game for PSP.

It’s completely unofficial, of course - and doubters may cite Ready at Dawn’s infamous disavowal of PSP development last year - but a close analysis of Ready at Dawn president Didier Malenfant’s reply when asked by Joystiq for comment is slightly encouraging.

“You know that even if we were [making the game], I couldn't answer your question." That sounds like a little bit like “we are [making the game], but I can’t admit it.”

Moreover, Sony has claimed that LittleBigPlanet is only one of the top three triple-A PSP titles planned for 2009. This God of War game could well be another.
