DS dominates European charts

This Christmas, DS consoles were flying off shop shelves quicker than bratty kids could say: "I want...". And it seems games for the console didn't do so badly either.

While in the UK, the only DS titles to see out 2007 in the top 10 game chart were mediocre cross-platform ones such as The Simpsons Game, WWE Smackdown Vs RAW 2008 and The Golden Compass, our European neighbours were snapping up enough DS exclusive games to make put their format in pole position.

According to end of year charts from Media-Control GfK International for the week ending December 30th, Dr Kawashima took both 1st and 2nd place in the Spanish game charts with More Brain Training at the top and Brain Training at number two. Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass came in at number 9 and - a little worryingly - Imagine Babyz was at number 8.

The same games featured in the German top ten, only with New Super Mario Bros replacing Imagine Babyz, which we'd say was an even better result.
