Amazon Appstore appears, hints at higher pricing than Android Market, disappears
We seek it here, we seek it there
Amazon’s Android Appstore accidentally jumped the gun and appeared on the popular internet retail site earlier today - only to be promptly taken down again.
Thanks to a quick screenshot taken by German Android site Androidnews.de, however, we've had our glimpse at the new Android Market competitor.
Those hoping for the same levels of discounts the company gives its books may be in for a surprise. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Force Recon, for instance, is listed at $2.99 in the screenshot, while it costs just $1.99/£1.23 on the Android Market.
Naturally, this price is subject to change between now and when the store finally opens, so there could well be some bargains lurking.
There’s still no official date when Amazon will lift the covers off the new section of its website, but as it will be the exclusive Android provider for Angry Birds Rio, expect it up and running some time within the next month to tie in with the film’s release date on April the 15th.CNET [via KYM]
