Hello and welcome to Ahead of the Game, a series where we tell you all about an upcoming game that, despite not being out yet, is available for you to play at the time of publishing. Through this series, you can grab a chance to play games well ahead of their release date, be that through Soft Launch, Open Beta, Demos, or more.
The Dark Side may have cookies, but we've got squishy marshmallows over here - what more can you ask for?
Squishmallows Match is an adorable match-3 puzzler that doesn't reinvent the wheel in any way - it's simply the Squishmallows themselves that make all the difference. As you can expect from the genre, you'll tap to match similar colours on a grid to clear them off a board, and each time you do, you get happy little sounds and flashy lights and cool combos that leap right off the screen, all to tell you that you've just done a good job.

The adrenaline rush and the dopamine boost you get from all these fancy visual effects are simply unparalleled - I mean, how much satisfaction can you get from matching three colours of a kind?
Turns out it's a whole darn lot, and Squishmallows Match knows exactly how to wield that lovely little weapon like a boss.
With each stage you clear, you get rewarded for using the least moves possible too, and at the end of every level, your unused moves get converted into currencies. You also get the absolute pleasure of watching the beautiful chaos unfold on your screen as your remaining blocks connect to form propellers, rockets, spinning wheels, and so much more, each one offering a sparkly way to clear the blocks for you.

It's cute, it's exhilarating, and it's all just too fluffy to resist.
Even better than all of that is the Claw Machine feature, which is basically your end goal here. Clearing levels lets you earn enough pulls to use at the Claw Machine, where you get a random Squishmallow to add to your collection. Each one has its own adorable backstory too - for instance, I never knew that Wendy the frog won MVP on the basketball courts last year. And now that I do, my life is all the better for it.
