Popular PlayStation Minis title Age of Zombies has just shuffled onto the App Store.

With the original released in February by developer Halfbrick Studios (of Fruit Ninja and Monster Dash fame) it looks to offer something different in the already overcrowded dual-stick shooter market.

The plot is suitably lighthearted, with you playing as hero Barry Steakfries, attempting to stop a zombie army from taking over five different time periods. Waves of zombie cavemen, ninjas and even an undead T-Rex must all be mercilessly mowed down. One minor deviation from the dual-stick shooter norm is the health system, which sees your health regenerate if you avoid taking damage for a set period of time.

Game Center support, global leaderboards, and minor improvement in the 2D retro graphics are all new additions from the original Minis version.

A universal release for both the iPhone and iPad, Age of Zombies is available now and will set you back you £1.79 / $2.99 / €2.39.
