Classic 1965 TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas comes to iPad as an interactive app

Fingerpaint! Carol with the Peanuts choir! Question the over-commercialisation of Christmas!

Classic 1965 TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas comes to iPad as an interactive app

An iPad interpretation of the 1965 television special A Charlie Brown Christmas has made its way onto the App Store, just in time for the 'holiday' season.

Turning the festive TV tale into a kind of interactive storybook, the app features narration from Peter Robbins – the original voice of Charlie Brown – as the Peanuts gang learn all about the meaning of Christmas.

Apparently, it’s all about religion and goodwill to all men, or something.

The new interactive elements of the tale mean that you’ll also be able to play Schroeder's piano, join in a spot of carolling with the Peanuts choir, and indulge in a bit of fingerpainting, too.

All while wondering how a story about the over-commercialisation of Christmas found its way into a £4.99/$6.99 iPad app released in late November.

Still, for those with a fondness for the Peanuts gang, or those striplings who've never seen the festive special, this looks like a charming, if expensive, excuse to sit down with a Christmassy classic.
