Glu's new mobile game puts you head to head with the stars

Pit your wits against the World Series of Poker pros

Forget celebrities playing poker, no matter how good Ben Affleck is. The best poker players are becoming celebrities in their own right, thanks to TV coverage of the big tournaments.

We're talking Johnny Chan, Chris Ferguson, Shannon Elizabeth and Annie Duke, among others. You might not have heard of them, but millions of poker fans have.

Glu Mobile is hoping that these stars' pulling power will work for its new game, World Series of Poker Pro Challenge. It's the follow-up to last year's World Series of Poker Texas Hold'em title, which focused on Ferguson.

In this sequel, he's been joined by the names above, along with Scotty Nguyen and Michael Mizrachi. New features include better visuals for your opponents, enabling you to see their tells and reactions, which helps your strategy.

Glu claims the game's AI has been beefed up too, allowing the mobile opponents to learn from your playing style, and tweak their tactics accordingly.

Finally, there's a Tilt Meter, which fills up if you play well, and puts your opponent 'on tilt' – a poker term meaning a rush of blood to the head that makes them play poorly and give off more tells.

World Series of Poker Pro Challenge is out now in the US, but is coming out here later this summer, when it'll face its own head-to-head battle with Hands-On Mobile's multiplayer game World Poker Tour 2.
