World of Goo iPhone oozes past Angry Birds on its first day on sale

The iPad version of World of Goo has been a critical and commercial hit. Not only is it top of Metacritic's iOS charts and winner of the prestigious Pocket Gamer iPad Game of the Year award, but it also shifted 125,000 units in its first month on the App Store – more than on any other platform.
The iPhone version of World of Goo went live this morning and it's already looking likely to replicate its big brother's success.
At the time of writing, it's got 53 five-star ratings out of 58 on iTunes and it's currently third in the UK chart by downloads, ahead of Rovio's Angry Birds but behind Angry Birds Rio and Flick Golf, which is holding the top spot thanks to a Masters sale.
World of Goo iPhone is on sale at the introductory price of 59p. It'll go up to £1.79 tomorrow. The iPad version, meanwhile, is now universal, so if you already own that you can download it again for your iPhone or iPod touch for free.
