Just when you thought awards season was at an end, along comes the British Academy Games Awards to prove you dead wrong. I'll make an allowance for this one, though, as the nominees for the EE Mobile Game of the Year Award are all really rather good.

The award is now in its second year, and it aims to celebrate the mobile game that offers the very best experience on a smartphone and over a mobile network. There are six nominees in total, with the winner set to be announced during the British Academy Games Awards ceremony on April 2nd.

While the nominees were voted on by industry experts, including our very own Dann Sullivan and Chris James, the winner will be decided by you lovely lot – the public! The award will be presented to the winner by YouTubers Ali-A and Clare Siobhan.

We've covered almost all of the nominees quite extensively over the last year or so, with a few personal faves making the list. What's nice to see is the variety of games up for the award. I mean, you've got a heartfelt indie, an FMV mystery, a AAA blockbuster, and a ludicrous golf parody. Surely only in the world of mobile gaming would you find such a weird and wonderful assortment of games up for major awards.
