Updated 22nd September, 13:09 PM: Sorry in advance, lovely Android enthusiasts. According to Ogre Pixel's most recent blog post, Warcher Defenders has been delayed by a week or two.

"In order to release Warcher Defenders at its best, we decided to delay a little bit the release date."

Not to worry, everyone. It's best to have a game that runs absolutely brilliantly, rather than a game that arrives early/on schedule and isn't quite up to par.

Check out the developer's short blog here, and join me in twiddling my thumbs and waiting like a good gamer. Patiently. So patiently.

Not many people can say no to something a little retro, I know I can't, and it's exciting to see that Ogre Pixel's retro shooter, Warcher Defenders, is coming to Android later this month.

Okay, I fibbed a little. Warcher Defenders is actually a tower defence game with an 8-bit retro flare in which you (the daring hero/heroine) have to defend the tower against waves and waves of fearsome enemies.

Exclusive to Google Play, the game features 3 game modes, 3 playable characters, simple tap/swipe controls, and a new Mercenary system in which you can choose which of the three characters you'd like to help defend your castle from the monsters of Baran Continent. Before you even ask it, yes, the game has some killer boss fights.

Warcher Defenders will be coming to Google Play on September 22nd and will be free to play. If you're an iOS user however, pick it up on the App Store now.
