HD version of Silver Award-winning strategy title UniWar expected to hit iOS and Android this week with new features

Developer Javaground is expected to bring a new HD version of Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning strategy title UniWar to the App Store and Android Market sometime this week, complete with several new features.

Aside from shiny new high-definition graphics "for all phones and tablets", the new app will boast an all-new Map Editor that will allow you to create and distribute your very own playing field to be used by other players in ranked games.

There'll be five fresh map environments to explore, too, including Mars, an oasis setting, and a volcano.

In UniWar HD, you'll also be able to zoom in and out of a map while you're furiously battling away, plus replay previously finished games. Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes.

Boom!

UniWar HD will arrive on the App Store as a Universal app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, priced at £2.99 / $4.99.

If you own an Android device and you've already splashed the cash on the standard-definition edition of UniWar, you'll be able to get your grubby mitts on this forthcoming refresh as a free update.

You lucky buggers.
