Tips for how to get every trophy in Uncharted: Golden Abyss for PS Vita - the complete guide

Nathan Drake's first outing for PlayStation Vita is an absolute delight, with visuals we never thought possible on a handheld games console.

Throughout Uncharted: Golden Abyss, there are various secrets to find and items to grab. Grabbing everything will earn you a set of PSN trophies for the game. And believe us: it's tough going to grab them all, as you'll need to put in dozens of hours to find everything.

Fortunately, we're put together a handy guide to help you out, which shows you exactly how to get every trophy. Aren't we lovely!

Follow the wise words below and you'll soon be staring at a magnificent collection of trinkets in your virtual trophy cabinet.

Collect all other trophies on this list to earn the Platinum trophy and crown yourself King of the Jungle.

Bronze PS Vita Trophy Relic finder
Find the strange relic

You can find this odd treasure - a reference to Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter - in Chapter 15. Watch this video to find it.

Bronze PS Vita Trophy Survivor
Defeat 75 Enemies in a row without dying

It's best to start a new game to earn this one, as the enemies at the start of the game are much easier to kill than the ones at the end. Note that it doesn't matter whether you die at the hands of an enemy or simply fall off a ledge - you must get all 75 kills without dying in any way.

Bronze PS Vita Trophy 100 Headshots
Defeat 100 enemies with headshots

This will come with time, although obviously you can obtain it quicker by aiming for the head!

Silver PS Vita Trophy 250 Headshots
Defeat 250 enemies with headshots

See above.

Bronze PS Vita Trophy Run-and-Gunner
Defeat 20 enemies while shooting from the hip

Kill 20 enemies by shooting with R without using L to aim. It's best to get up close to an enemy before firing, since from a distance you'll barely hit them. It's best to do this near the start of the game, as enemies later on in the game will destroy you if you get too close.

Bronze PS Vita Trophy Hangman
Defeat 20 enemies while hanging

Takes no effort at all - you'll kill 20 enemies while hanging during the course of the story, so you'll get it without even trying.

For these "get X kills with Y weapon" trophies, you'll most likely need multiple playthroughs to achieve them all. To speed up your progress, make sure you only use weapons that give you trophies - using some of the weapons in the game doesn't net you a trophy, so it's a waste of time to employ them. Note that certain weapons are only available at certain points of the game. For example, you'll only find the Desert - 5 and grenades later in the game. So, for those particular weapons, you might as well hit the 'chapter select' and jump part way through the game.

Silver PS Vita Trophy Bare-knuckle Slugger
Defeat 50 enemies with hand-to-hand combat

This is fairly easy to get. Simply start a new game on Easy and beat up every enemy you encounter instead of shooting them. The enemies at the start of the game are simple to take down, so you'll quickly get this trophy.

Silver PS Vita Trophy Master Ninja
Defeat 50 enemies with stealth attacks

You can acquire this trophy by killing as many people with stealth as possible during one playthrough. There are plenty of areas in the game where Drake will remark that he needs to get through quietly, and usually there'll be around 4-6 enemies walking about the place.

When you get to one of these sections, a cheap way to get the trophy is to take all the enemies bar one out with stealth, then let the last guy kill you. Repeat this process until you get the trophy.

Bronze PS Vita Trophy Steel Fist Master
Defeat 20 enemies with a single punch after softening them up with gunfire

This one can be tricky to get, for it can be difficult to judge how much to shoot an enemy before you punch them. The best thing to try is to start a new game on Easy, and then for each enemy you meet, shoot them a couple of times with the pistol, then run at them and hammer the melee button.

That should take the enemies down with one punch. However, if you're finding that they won't go down with one punch (or are dying from the two shots), then adjust the number of times you shoot them to one or three before going for the punch.

Silver PS Vita Trophy Steel Fist Expert
Defeat ten enemies in a row with a single punch after softening them up with gunfire.

Once you've worked out the perfect number of shots to obtain the abovementioned trophy, then go for this one. It can still be tricky - and pretty frustrating if you get to enemy number ten and then die by gunfire - but as long as you're at the start of the game and on Easy mode, you should net this quickly.

Bronze PS Vita Trophy Charted Easy
Finish the game in Easy mode

Finish Uncharted: Golden Abyss on any mode.

Silver PS Vita Trophy Charted Normal
Finish the game in Normal mode

Finish Uncharted: Golden Abyss on Normal or Hard mode.

Gold PS Vita Trophy Charted Hard
Finish the game in Hard mode

Finish Uncharted: Golden Abyss on Hard mode.

Gold PS Vita Trophy Charted Crushing
Finish the game in Crushing mode

You need to complete the game on Hard before Crushing mode will unlock, then you need to finish the game again on this mode. It's insanely brutal, and will make you cry.

You earn all of the following trophies by collecting gems, completing rubbings, and piecing together puzzles in the game's various chapters. Each trophy requires you to visit a number of chapters rather than sticking to a single one. You can see which chapters you'll need to visit to earn each trophy by visiting the in-game 'Mysteries' and 'Fortunes' menus. Choose a mystery and it will show you all the items you need to complete that mystery. Touch a missing item, and it will say "Look for this in Chapter X". Then, you simply visit Chapter X and hunt it down.

Of course, another way to complete all these trophies in one fell swoop is to make sure you grab absolutely everything in every chapter, therefore completing every mystery and fortune.

Don't worry - we have you covered! Scroll to the bottom of this guide and you'll find video walkthroughs for every single chapter, courtesy of YouTube user 'SolidStateSR71'.

For the following trophies, you need to complete various sets of bounty items. There are two ways to do this, and unfortunately both take a serious amount of time. Enemies will randomly drop items during the game when you kill them. You don't need to do anything to pick them up, as the game will grab them for you automatically. In this way, you can simply keep playing the game over and over again until you've collected everything.

Note that certain bounties appear more frequently in different parts of the game. For example, the gemstones appear on numerous occasions towards the end of the game, so if you're looking to finish your gemstone collection, you'll want to play the last chapters time and again.

The other way to collect bounties is to use the Black Market. This is an online trading area which uses Near to complete your set. You simply choose the type of bounty that you're currently looking for, then update your choice on Near, and wait.

Check back a few hours later, and hopefully someone else in your area playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss will have traded something with you (the actual trading is done automatically - you don't need to do anything to give items away).

It also helps if you have lots of PSN friends who have Uncharted: Golden Abyss, as trading can be done between friends, too. So, add a ton of people who have Uncharted: Golden Abyss and let the bounties roll in.

Get eight different phrases out of him and you'll earn this trophy. Here's a video guide on how to do it - you'll want to jump to the 5:10 mark to see how to do it.
