Astraware has announced that its Tradewinds 2 strategy game is coming out for Windows Mobile Standard handsets, joining the existing Palm OS and Windows Mobile Professional versions (the Java version, which we loved, was published by IF Fun).

The game supports both QVGA and QVGA landscape modes, while Astraware has tweaked its five-way control system for non-touchscreen devices, making the game easier to navigate.

These new features have also been updated on the existing versions, too. The game costs $19.95 from Astraware's website.

If you need a reminder, the game sees you sailing the Caribbean exploring, trading and battling to make your fortune. Until someone gets off the grog and brings Sid Meier's Pirates! to phones, it's the most piratey fun you can have on your handset.
