Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters coming to handhelds and (probably) iPhone soon

EA’s Q3 FY11 Financial Results report (about as exciting as it sounds) reveals that Tiger Woods’s upcoming golf game PGA Tour 12: The Masters is coming to handheld consoles and iPhone.

Previously announced as just a Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 title, the game will also see release on at least one portable and mobile (read: 'iPhone', and others) by the end of March 2011. The console versions are due for release on March 29th in America, and April 1st worldwide.

The previous game, PGA Tour 11, came out on DS and PSP - you can probably expect the same platforms for this one, and iPhone too. The games will also come out after the Nintendo 3DS, but EA has so far kept mum on the idea of seeing Tiger in his full three dimensional glory.

In the console games, you’ll play 18 holes on the Augusta National, enter the Masters Tournament and work your way towards the most sought after prize in professional golf - the Green Jacket.

As the 'Masters' title suggests, PGA 12 is all about reliving the most memorable and historic moments in golfing history. Aside from the Tiger Woods sex scandal, we presume.

We've contacted EA for a list of platforms for PGA 12. Expect an update soon.

Update: A previous version of this article said Tiger Woods 11 was released on iPhone. It never actually came out, much to the chagrin of PG's resident sports-fanatic, Richard Brown.
