11 Bit Studios, the team behind the immensely popular Anomaly franchise, has announced its latest upcoming mobile title, This War of Mine.

Set in a modern, war-torn area, This War of Mine shifts the focus away from the armed and armoured combatants that you'd expect to find in first-person shooters.

In their place is a band of everyday civilians, unfortunate enough to have this war of theirs tear through their hometowns.

So you'll be playing as these guys:

...not these guys:

The tagline for This War of Mine is as simple as it is poignant - "In war, not everyone is a soldier".

With this mantra in mind, 11 Bit hopes to show the other side of war - the one that tears families, nations, and lives apart.

Unsurprisingly, then, This War of Mine is a survival horror game of sorts that challenges players to make complex decisions based on their individual morals and principles.

You can try to save all of the civilian refugees in your shelter, for example, or you can let a few "slip" if it means the rest will be safe.

There are no right or wrong decisions in This War of Mine, but there is a rather beautiful trailer below.

We'll try to track this one down at GDC and will be sure to bring you more about it then.
