Become a Rabbi and save your synagogue in Gemini Rue publisher's The Shivah

Dave Gilbert, the president of husband-and-wife studio Wadjet Eye Games, has revealed on Twitter that 2006 point-and-click adventure title The Shivah is on its way to the iPhone and iPad.

"What's next for iOS porting? The Shivah! @JanetRGilbert is working on it RIGHT NOW!," Gilbert tweeted yesterday afternoon.

The Shivah is somewhat of a unique adventure title. You don't take on the role of a hard-nosed detective or a plucky adventurer, you see.

Your aim isn't to save the world from destruction, either.

Instead, you grab a ceremonial borsolino and become a Rabbi, who must save a poor New York City-based synagogue from closure.

In order to do this, you have to travel across the borough of Manhattan, and attempt to solve a mystery that surrounds the death of a former member of your congregation.

Gemini Rue publisher Wadjet Eye Games has a diverse back-catalog of PC titles it could port to iOS. So, why The Shivah?

Well, according to Gilbert, The Shivah is his company's "shortest" and "simplest" game, and he and his wife have just had a baby. Makes sense.
