The Hunger Games Adventures announced for iPad

The Hunger Games is coming to the iPad.

No, not that endless runner version but rather The Hunger Games Adventures, a social RPG that launched on Facebook earlier this year.

The Hunger Games Adventures has done quite well on Facebook, and has fleshed out the world of the books and the movies by giving fans exclusive content like the first-ever map of Panem which shows how all of the districts are laid out.

Like many social games, The Hunger Games Adventures bases its actions upon a finite resource (in this case, energy) to limit gameplay to bite-sized doses.

For many mobile gamers, this episodic content fits quite well with their play schedules but more invested fans might find the mechanic more frustrating than fun.

A faceless hero

In order to avoid any plot inconsistencies with the books, The Hunger Games Adventures places the player in charge of their own hero and not one of the named characters from the source material.

As players progress, they evolve on a course parallel to that of the main hero of the books, and their ultimate goal is to become the next hero of Panem.

The Hunger Games Adventures for iPad does not feature a way to import characters from the Facebook version of the game, so those who already invested a serious amount of time with this game on Mark Zuckerberg’s platform will have to start from the beginning again.
