Gameloft's The Dark Knight Rises is an open world game, out at end of summer

Gameloft has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming movie tie-in The Dark Knight Rises.

The video shows an authentic Nolan universe Batman kicking, punching, and headbutting his way through a bunch of bald goons, pausing occasionally to stand broodily on the edge of something high.

There's not enough info to confirm many specifics at this point, but the description beneath IGN-exclusive trailer does mention that the game is open-world.

We also know the game will contain in-app purchases, something Gameloft revealed alongside its yearly financials back in March.

The Dark Knight Rises will be swooping onto iOS and Android towards the end of the summer.

James pivoted to video so hard that he permanently damaged his spine, which now doubles as a Cronenbergian mic stand. If the pictures are moving, he's the one to blame.
