Tales of the Adventure Company is a clever mashing-together of Battleships, a roguelike, and a casual RPG. It's just hit the App Store in New Zealand, which means it'll be hitting the UK at midnight tonight.

The game sees you tapping through a grid of squares to reveal what's underneath them. It might be allies, it might be monsters, or it might be the healing light of a camp fire.

You've got a set number of taps to get through the dungeon you're scrapping through, and every grid requires you to kill the monster that's holding the key.

There are different heroes to unlock, special moves to master, and plenty of gross pixel-art beasts to whomp in the simple tappy combat.

Tales of the Adventure Company should cost £1.49 / $1.99 when it lands on the UK App Store later today, and if you're looking for a new casual RPG obsession it could be right up your gloomy corridor.
