The majority of you won't be familiar with Alex Dantis. He's an indie developer who decided to learn to program video games around a year and a half ago after realising that he hated marketing.

The first iOS fruit of Dantis's coding labour was critter-crunching title Adorable Scapegoats, which blasted onto the App Store last November.

Well, Dantis is back... and he's bringing a rather interesting (and extremely colourful) "obstacle avoidance" title called Synesthetic with him.

Due out later this month, Synesthetic is a rhythm-based title that's being touted by Dantis as a "psychedelic mash-up of Audiosurf, Proun, and Boost". The forthcoming title syncs with the music you have stored on your device and creates tracks from your favourite tunes.

There'll be three unique game modes on offer, full support for the Retina display that's packed into the latest iteration of the iPad, and separate leaderboards for every song. Game Center achievements will also be on board.

Check out Synesthetic on July 19th.
