iPhone’s Symbol6 developer blogs its design process
Follow the game’s design from concept to distribution
Development cycles and design processes are generally kept close to the creator’s chest, but the influx of smaller indie software houses has created an enthusiastic trend for online co-operation.
Flash and iPhone developer Gogogic believes quite strongly in taking part in the indie developer community, and has therefore posted a blog detailing the design process of its iPhone puzzle game Symbol6.
The blog post shows gameplay flow charts, concept animations, artwork production processes, lengthy descriptions and even rough sketches on the back of an old envelope (well, it might not be an old envelope, but the sketch is clearly the embryo of Symbol6).
Gogogic’s blog is a great resource for anyone curious about the design process of a simple, well designed iPhone game, and the latest post even details the 10 things you should do before getting to work on your own App Store title.
