Super Mecha Champions welcomes new transformable mecha “Pulsar” as designed by Japanese mecha designer Kawamori Shoji

NetEase Games has announced an exciting crossover event for Super Mecha Champions, its anime-themed battle royale shooter on mobile. In the Kawamori Shoji x SMC Collaboration, Japanese mecha designer Kawamori Shoji is joining the fray as Super Mecha Champions launches his new design, Pulsar.

In Super Mecha Champions, players can expect to acquire a new transformable mecha “Pulsar” as designed by Kawamori Shoji. The popular Japanese mecha designer and anime director is also known for his works in Ghost in the Shell, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Gundam 0083 and more.

According to the official press release, "The original 'Pulsar' was a transformable armed experimental machine with autonomous learning ability created by the Priory radicals in the 'Paradise' project. However, 'Pulsar' was seriously damaged in a man-made 'experiment accident' when Lan Xin, a pilot who specializes in human mechanics, saved it from the fate of abortion."

The Pulsar's aesthetics have a ringed feature that intimidates foes with the image of the beam cannon, while the same lock-and-load vibe can be seen in its battle-ready humanoid form. In its mecha form, Pulsar can show off its flexibility on the battlefield with the Extended Spread Mode of Pulse Blaster and its Single Snipe Mode.

Lan Xin, on the other hand, is designed by another artist from Kawamori Studio, Ebata Risa (known for Tsuki and Nanakori from Xenoblade 2, as well as for Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee from The Super Dimension Fortress Macross F).

If you're eager to give the new collab updates a go, Super Mecha Champions is available to download on the Google Play Store for Android devices and on the iOS App Store. You can check out the official website for more info.
