If, like me, you spent most of last month hurling a slab of gristle against walls and over saws in an effort to rescue a pink square with a plaster on its head, then the news that Super Meat Boy might be on its way to the 3DS next year will most likely leave you whimpering quietly in the corner.

Team Meat, maker of the hit Xbox Live Arcade title, has responded to a fan’s request for a 3DS version of the ridiculously hard platform game with an open-door ‘we will do what we can’ reply on Twitter.

We’re not exactly sure how our eyes will be able to take three-dimensional chunks of blood flying out at us, but another reason to delve back into its fast-paced ‘hardcore’ platforming gameplay is always welcome.

Super Meat Boy is currently only available on Xbox Live Arcade, but is in development for both a PC and WiiWare release.
