Vlambeer challenges players of Super Crate Box to gather 5 million crates for a new update

Vlambeer is challenging players of Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning Super Crate Box to gather 5 million in-game crates between them in exchange for a new update to the game.

While the figure initially sounds impossibly high, at the time of writing over 1,000,000 crates have been collected – a milestone achieved in just 12 hours, 30 minutes, and 51 seconds, to be precise.

The first 500,000 crates were grabbed within five hours of the game hitting the app store.

We liked Super Crate Box rather a lot in our review, with Rob Hearn calling it "a stark and challenging indie game shot through with humour and care".
