Thunder Game Works’s iPhone strategy title Trenches is the latest in a long line of recent releases to hit the zombie trend. Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption, Saints Row - doesn’t matter what game it is, developers will figure out a way to chuck some undead corpses in it.

Same goes for Stenches, which boots out the Germans in favour of shuffling, brain-craving, grey-complexioned beasties. You still bunker down, deploying weapons and holding off against waves and waves of enemies, but this time the bad guys want your cerebral cortex.

The game features 200 waves, across four different maps, as well as an unlimited Distance mode for when you’ve rinsed the game out of traditional content. There’s also voice acting and original music.

The developer has outlined some updates planned for the future. The game will add competitive and co-operative multiplayer, new zombie bosses, and more game modes.

To celebrate the launch, the game’s predecessor Trenches is on sale. It can be yours for 59p / 99c / €0.79c on iPhone and iPod touch.

But if you prefer zombies, then grab Stenches: A Zombie Tale of Trenches. Out now on iPhone and iPod touch for £1.19 / $1.99 / €1.59.
