Shane McCafferty's retro-style pixel-shmup Starseed: Origin is now out on iOS.

McCafferty considers it somewhat of a spiritual successor to the Commodore 64 shmup Uridium. This is on account of how it plays.

The idea in each level is to take out massive spinning dreadnoughts. You only have a small ship so you have to do this bit by bit.

First, you take the shields down, then you have to blast all the docked ships on board to take it down. All the while you're being attacked by other small ships.

Prepare for plenty of pew-pew if you grab it. You can purchase Starseed: Origin for £1.49 / £1.99 on the App Store.
