Star Wars: Hunters is an upcoming squad-based multiplayer game from Zynga that's heading for iOS, Android and Switch

During the latest Nintendo Direct, Zynga unveiled their first foray into console gaming with the announcement of Star Wars: Hunters. However, you might have missed that the multiplayer arena combat game will also be heading for iOS and Android at some stage in 2021, though no specific date has been revealed yet.

It will see players taking part in squad-based, multiplayer battles that will feature a varied roster of Star Wars characters. You can check out the teaser trailer below. Though it doesn't reveal any gameplay just yet, you can catch a glimpse of some of the characters that you'll be able to choose from when Star Wars: Hunters launches.

The game is set after the fall of the Galactic Empire and will see players battling in real-time in settings that draw inspiration from iconic Star Wars locations. Player's squads will be made up of a variety of unusual characters that include bounty hunters, heroes of the Rebellion and Imperial stormtroopers.

Discussing the game, Bernard Kim, President of Publishing at Zynga said: “Bringing Star Wars: Hunters to the Nintendo Switch and its passionate fan-base marks an exciting milestone for Zynga.”
