Star Wars: Hunter shutting down in late 2025, final content update next month
Limited power

- Star Wars: Hunters is set to shutter after less than a year
- The actual shutdown is arriving in October of this year
- A final content update is set to go live in April
Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's first take on the franchise, is set to shutter a little over a year after it first launched for iOS and Android. Hunters hit mobile back in June 2024 and was instantly an attention-grabber with its mix of game show aesthetics and new, fresh takes on Star Wars archetypes.
Now, however, it has been announced that Star Wars: Hunters will be shuttering on October 1st of this year, with a final content update set to drop on April 15th. We've already had the usual news that in-game currency is now eligible for a refund and that certain seasonal events will get a rerun as season three is extended.
And, thankfully, those looking forward to the arrival of the final hunterTuya will still be able to play them in multiplayer. Tuya will arrive in the final content update and be free-to-play from the get-go for all players.

I think it's fair to say this announcement came as somewhat of a shock, as there was little if any indication that Star Wars: Hunters had been underperforming. And with the strength of Zynga as a company, it feels like there must have been greater reasons for Star Wars: Hunters being shelved.
Personally, I would hazard a guess that the genre (pseudo-hero shooter) was oversaturated and the audience simply wasn't there. Especially when you consider that the average Star Wars viewer is now increasingly older, not necessarily the people who want a high-octane multiplayer experience when they hop onto their phones.
Still, for those of you who didn't get a chance to try out Star Wars: Hunters you'll still have the opportunity to give it a go before it gets shelved. Be sure to check out our tier list of Hunters in SW: Hunters ranked by class!
