Aquatic iPhone action-RPG Squids has just splashed onto the Android Market as a free-to-play title.

After Squids made some serious waves on the App Store upon launch last October, The Game Bakers has decided to port its turn-based adventure over to Google's platform in freemium form.

In this fishy F2P experience - which is equal parts RPG and physics-puzzler - you command a team of eight courageous cephalopods, whose job it is to save their underwater home from an encroaching black ooze.

Under the sea

Stretching and releasing your squid's tentacles will ping them across the environment, allowing you to attack enemies and collect power-up bubbles.

And because each squid has its own unique personality and traits, you'll have to tailor your tactics according to which member of the team you're flinging.

With its charming cartoon visuals, slick presentation, and finely tuned controls, it's little wonder the iOS version of Squids swam off with one of our Silver Awards.

If you fancy taking the plunge, you can download Squids from the Android Market today for free [download].
