Spectrobes is coming to mobiles

Prepare to be puzzled

Spectrobes is coming to mobiles

Disney's DS hit and Pokemon challenger, Spectrobes, is coming to mobiles across Europe. Initial details are scant, but the screenshots suggest that the game will incorporate a traditional symbol matching puzzle element into the proceedings.

We also know there will be four different modes – including a full-on story mode with 15 levels and nine different Spectrobes – and, intriguingly, a level generator. It seems you'll encounter two kinds of puzzle field; a combat section called the battlefields, and what are designated as non-battlefields, where you can feed your spectrobes and level them up.

A new WAP portal will be launching alongside Spectrobes mobile, which can be accessed from within the game. The portal will be similar to the one that Disney launched for the one thumb game NOM, and will offer daily, weekly and monthly high scores lists. The portal will also host a clutch for free extras for visitors including cheats, wallpapers and a demo of the game.

Spectrobes does not face the same competition on mobile as it does on the DS and the kid-friendly brand could make this would-be Pokemon competitor an ideal fit for the platform.

Of course, we'll have to see how it plays. Click 'Track It!' to be alerted to our review by email.
