Taito: Bubble Bobble and Space Invaders HD coming soon

Touch Arcade has been getting down and dirty with Taito, and has revealed the company’s range of upcoming games for both iPhone and iPad.

First up, Taito will finally be braving the murky high definition waters of the iPad with an HD edition of classic arcade shooter, Space Invaders. Scheduled for release in July, Space Invaders HD features the ancient gaming relic, and includes single device multiplayer.

Also, the developer showed off an early test build of Bubble Bobble running on the iPhone. The game will feature both the 1986 arcade original and a new, modern take on the game that Taito wasn’t quite ready to disclose yet. Hopefully, it’ll be something akin to the Extreme and Infinity Gene editions of Space Invaders.

The developer is also hard at work on an iPhone version of DS game Gardening Mama (like Cooking Mama but replace knives with trowels), a massive update for Space Invaders Infinity Gene (including themes based on classic Taito blasters Darius, Metal Black and Night Striker) and seasonal recipes for Cooking Mama.

Oh, and the Japanese developer has also released a massive fleet of productivity apps and iPhone utilities featuring graphics from Space Invaders. They’re all free and ad supported, so you can kit your iPhone out with a Space Invaders themed clock, battery meter, business card, calculator (ad free), memory status, timer, and flashlight.

We’ll see the first release, Space Invaders HD, hit iPad in July.
