Superbrothers and Jim Guthrie, the team behind the beguiling art and music of iOS hit Sword & Sworcery EP, have confirmed that they will be working on a set of "thematically connected & musically-linked" levels called Corporeal for upcoming Vita title Sound Shapes.

Corporeal features the same striking pixel art seen in Sword & Sworcery, only now it brightens up the world of corporate spreadsheets and retro office space.

The level design and sound integration, meanwhile, will be handled by the team behind Sound Shapes itself, Queasy Games.

Lost in music

Sound Shapes was selected as one of our top 10 most anticipated Vita games earlier in the year, thanks to its promising-sounding blend of rhythmic platforming and LittleBigPlanet-style sharing options.

The interesting art styles evidenced in previously released shots certainly caught our attention, but news of this fresh collaboration between the Sound Shapes dev and the Sword & Sworcery EP team has got us even more interested in seeing how the final game fits together.

Unfortunately, a release date is still unconfirmed, with Superbrothers merely mentioning that the title was heading to the Vita "before too long".

The game will, however, be demoed at the Sony booth at E3 next month, so we'll try and bring you all a hands-on write-up of the title soon.
