Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II for Windows Phone will let you continue your game on an Xbox 360

The idea of starting an Xbox Live-enabled title on your Windows Phone-powered device and then continuing from where you left off on your Xbox 360 remains a tantalising prospect. For despite this functionality actually being available to Windows Phone developers for a while, no one has hitherto implemented it in a game.
It looks like Sega's forthcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II title will, however, be the first Windows Phone game to take advantage of this cross-platform technology.
According to Ken Balough, Sega's Sonic The Hedgehog 4 brand manager, this functionality is "a really cool thing Microsoft has going between the devices".
Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II will also be released on the iPhone, iPad, Android, and PlayStation 3, but cross-platform play is likely to be exclusive to the Xbox and Windows Phone versions.
Pocket Gamer went hands-on with Sonic's latest adventure at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, so check that out before you leave.
