People really want Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Remastered on iOS and Android
Legal issues may be in the way
An online petition to get Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Remastered on iOS and Android has attracted over 2000 signatures.
The Remastered edition of the game is currently a prototype made by Christian Whitehead and Simon Thomley. The petition is in aid of it getting picked up by Sega and officially released on mobile.
Whitehead and Thomley previously produced the remastered versions of Sonic CD, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. All of these came with new features.
Sonic 3 Remastered is no different. It, too, has widescreen display, new graphics and animations, new story cut scenes, and new bonus modes.
Writing in a blog post, Thomley has said that he may have a harder time getting this Sonic 3 Remastered prototype contracted by Sega due to recent shake ups at the company.
He also mentions that there have been "rumors of legal issues regarding some of the music" in Sonic 3. This may be why Sega didn't pick up Sonic 3 Remastered after Thomley presented it to them last year.
