Sega finally updates Sonic CD with widescreen support for the iPhone 5

We had a lot of good things to say about Sonic CD back when we reviewed it late 2011. So many good things, in fact, that we handed it a much-coveted PG Gold Award.

One of the main points of praise for this mobile port was that the widescreen aspect ratio showed off "more of the game's lush 2D environments".

So, how could Sega make it even better? Why, by adding widescreen support for Apple's 4-inch iPhone 5 to the iOS version of Sonic CD, of course. Which it has. Of course.

In our review of Sonic CD, we stated that "this peerless 2D platform escapade is a must for any self-respecting gamer." That basically means you should buy it now. If not sooner.

The updated version of Sonic CD is available now from the App Store, priced £1.99 / $2.99.
