The absolute classic tycoon/management game Sid Meier’s Railroads is set to receive its first mobile iteration courtesy of Feral Interactive later this year. Released all the way back in 2006 onto PC, this game sees you take on the role of a railroad tycoon, managing various train lines as you seek to get materials and people both from place to place, all the while managing your various trains and economy as well.

Sid Meier is basically a household name for anyone who owned a computer around the mid-2000s era. From Pirates to the legendary Civilization series, his name was on a ton of absolute classics, and Railroads is no different! For fans of the tycoon genre, this is a staple, and one that any player who finds themselves drawn to this sort of game should absolutely give a look.

Railroads sees you as the head of a massive railroad company, and depending on the scenario, will ask you to manage various different problems and figure out how best to manage your own income along with supply routes and passenger routes too. It’s similar to most other tycoon games in so far as the fact that you’ll be taking care of just about everything within reach to make sure your company runs as smoothly as possible.

The gameplay is mostly automated, though you’ll be making the train lines yourself and making sure all of your locomotives are well taken care of; otherwise, most of it is played through various menus and logistical management.

If you’re a fan of the genre, don’t let old age turn you off of Railroads. It’s a true classic within the tycoon circle, and you’d be remiss to not at least check it out. Currently, it has no solid release date nor a price point, but stay tuned for any updates on that front!
