A bigger boat won't help with this one

HandyGames has released its vicious swimmer-munching eat-'em-up Shark or Die onto the iPhone and iPad as a freemium title.

The iOS version of the Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning Java game puts you in charge of a hungry hunter, stalking its pray (innocent humans) before ripping them to bits to quell its insatiable appetite.

Viewed from below the water, the iOS versions use touch-based controls to direct your munching sea-creature to its target before they manage to escape to the nearest boat.

In terms of customisation, there’s the ability to change the names of the ‘celebrity swimmers’ that appear to that of your friends, and the option of destroying said friends’ scores in real-life through a global leaderboard or through the iPad’s two-player mode.

Other features like an RPG-like progression system, achievements, more types of swimmers, and, well, ‘more blood’ have to be purchased for separately, with each ‘pack’ costing 59p.
