HandyGames has been tinkering with ad-funded games recently, starting with Guns ‘n’ Glory on iPhone and Android.

It’s now repeated the trick with light-hearted munch-‘em-up Shark or Die for Android. You can download a fully featured version of the game free of charge – you’ll just have to put up with the odd banner ad popping up.

Alternatively you can buy the full, ad-free version for €2.99. You can also purchase “special expansion packs” from within the game.

Originally released to rave reviews on mobile, Shark or Die sees you taking control of a shark in tourist-filled waters. Your goal is to keep chowing down on human flesh in order to keep your ravenous hunger at bay.

Commendably, HandyGames seems to be throwing its weight behind the Android platform when many of its contemporaries are hesitating. “The high user ratings and the massive number of downloads of our two latest games clearly show that there is great potential for future growth on the Android platform," says HandyGames CEO Markus Kassulke.

Keep an eye out for our review of Shark or Die on Android in the near future. And stay away from the water.
