Shapist is a bold shape-sorting puzzler that we gave a Bronze Award to back in February.

But what we reviewed back then was only Qixen-P Design's soft-launch version of the game, it seems.

Yep, it turns out that the full and proper version of Shapist will be released on August 28th. It won't just be available on iPad either, this time - it'll be a universal app.

According to Qixen-P, this upcoming version is the game that Shapist deserves to be.

That means it has an improved difficulty curve, more levels, a load of extra colours, and new mechanical twists.

To further emphasise this, Qixen-P has released a brilliantly animated trailer for the game. You can watch it above, whereas below you'll find its best moment in gif form.

Shapist

Great, isn't it? Hopefully this new version of Shapist will live up to these vivid illustrations.

Our review of the pre-release version described it as "Bold and imaginative". We also said: "Shapist brings shape sorting into the modern age with impressive panache."

Our main criticism was with its difficulty: "It may prove too challenging for more casual puzzlers, though."

Now, as said, Qixen-P has smoothed out the difficulty of Shapist in the upcoming version. That makes it seem likely that it may even surpass the Bronze Award we initially gave it.

Let's hope so. We'll be able to find out on August 28th.
