Madfinger teases the release of F2P multiplayer spin-off Shadowgun: DeadZone
Still alive

It looks like Madfinger's long-awaited multiplayer version of third-person blaster Shadowgun is getting ready to step into the light.
Rather than issue a multiplayer update for Shadowgun, the Dead Trigger dev told us that it would be releasing a separate app devoted exclusively to social slaughter.
Entitled Shadowgun: DeadZone, this free-to-play title would feature eight characters, a host of classic modes (including Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch), and support for cross-platform multiplayer between Android and iOS.

The game was handed a Q1 2012 release date, but it failed to materialise. In fact, we've heard nothing further on the matter since January.
Today, Madfinger posted this teaser image (below) on its Facebook page.

Though there was no accompanying text, we're guessing this means that DeadZone is still alive, and that its debut isn't far off.
According to Madfinger's website, we can expect "detailed info" on Shadowgun: DeadZone "soon".
