Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe introduces some new and familiar characters in Valentine's Day event

Square Enix has lined up a brand new update to their mobile adaptation of their SaGa JRPG series, Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe. Much like the massive amount of updates the company has put out for just about all of their other mobile games this month, this new patch brings with it some new cosmetics and new Styles to collect, some new, some returning from previous events.

Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe is Square Enix’s mobile answer to the cult JRPG franchise that is the SaGa universe. These games have always been a bit of a standout within typical JRPGs, as they usually involve some sort of unique gimmick. For example, the first game (which was recently remastered and released for mobile) is completely directionless, allowing you to go wherever you please and piece together the plot and main story quests by simply exploring and talking to other people around the game’s world.

Now, Re;univerSe doesn’t necessarily translate those gimmicks, but does have a very diverse cast of characters that are pretty much all either directly from the SaGa games or at the very least inspired by the cast of them. You’ll use all of these characters in a turn-based style of combat with all of their unique abilities, tearing up your foes in various different styles of content.

And with the Strawberry Valentine’s-themed Fun event, you can complete limited-time missions available from now until the 27th to earn some pretty cool rewards, mostly upgrade materials for your characters. There are also some unique styles in this exchange too that are re-runs from the previous Valentine’s Day events.

Finally, there’s also the new banner for you to roll on, which includes three new styles; [A Lady’s Way] Hilda, [What’s Chocolate] Baum, and [A Hard Fight] Matriarch. All of these are inspired by the Valentine’s Day theme and come with their own cool powers and moves to pull off in battle.
