In a pleasant break from the norm, colourful platformer Roboto has launched on iPhone, Android, and Xperia Play today, marking the first time we've seen a game launch simultaneously across the three major mobile gaming formats.

Brian McRae, creative director at Roboto's developer Fenix Fire, told Pocket Gamer that, “Once we played Roboto on the Xperia Play we were like, 'This device rocks!' The Play control feels fantastic and the power of the device is great."

"The Xperia Play is a perfect fit for our new platformer game, Roboto, and we are excited to create more Fenix Fire games for this awesome device."

There are 30 levels of cel-shaded-style graphics and bright landscapes to leap and hookshot through, picking up goodies and defeating mechanical monstrosities along the way.

We'll have a review of the game up soon, but if you can't wait that long, you can purchase the game from the Android Market for £1.82 (download).
