Time for a killing spree

Predators decloaks for iPhone and iPad

The Predator franchise may not be a sparkling gem compared to Alien, but with the new Predators film in the safe hands of producer Robert Rodriguez, it should at least have an edge to it.

Hopefully, the same will be true of the tie-in Predators game that's just hit the App Store.

Published by Chillingo and developed by Guerrilla Bob studio Angry Mob Games, it places you into the armour and dreads of a Predator.

One against many

Fighting through 24 levels filled with human targets - everything from mercenaries, assassins, death-squad soldiers, cartel enforcers to black ops snipers - you'll have to collect the heads of your kills to gain rank and unlock new technologies and weaponry.

Of course, those traditional Predator fare such as invisibility, thermal vision, long-range cannon, smart discs, net gun, spears and your razor sharp wit... sorry, wrist-blades will make the job that little bit more fun.

The game uses Chillingo's Crystal social network to let you see your achievements and compare your performance via the online leaderboards.

Predators is out now in universal app form for iPhone and iPad. It costs $2,99, €2.39 or £1.79.
