Of all the upcoming N-Gage titles, Reset Generation is the one Nokia has to get the promotion and marketing absolutely right. Why? It's perhaps the first true platform-defining game for N-Gage.

With talk of ambitious social media marketing, the company seems to be on the right track. But Nokia is also taking a softly-softly approach to the game's roll-out, in advance of its scheduled launch on August 4th.

So, this Friday will see a single-player version of Reset Generation released as a PC download on gaming community FilePlanet, owned by IGN.

Although free, it'll only be available to paid subscribers of the site, although Nokia tells us it'll be available more widely next week.

The aim is seemingly to build buzz among gamers who might not own N-Gage handsets, but will be interested in this particular game.

Clearly, the PC launch will also attract intense interest from N-Gage gamers looking to get a bit of practice in before the full launch.
