Good news for lucky people with an iPad 2 and an 1080p TV. You can now combine the two with Firemint's Real Racing 2 HD.

The latest version of the game - v1.1 - supports full 1080p output to HDMI-compatible displays.

As well as a copy of the game (£5.99 / $9.99 / €7.99), you'll need an Apple Digital AV Adapter and an HDMI cable to race around in full high-definition glory.

Double up

With the game running on the big screen, you get your real-time telemetry, position, speed, and lap time shown on the iPad 2.

Firemint has listed instructions on its website, but these basically consist of connecting everything up and then launching the game.

Apparently, you can also seamlessly disconnect / reconnect the HDMI cable at any time during gameplay.

And this is what it will look like.
