Beloved R/C racer Re-Volt has burnt tiny rings of rubber to make it all the way from 1999 to the present-day App Store.

Under the new name of Re-Volt Classic, this PC / Dreamcast favourite has survived the transition to the iPhone and iPad almost completely intact - with a few extra bells and whistles to boot.

Pleasingly, all 14 microcosmic tracks from the original are available in this 2012 edition, along with a choice of 42 radio-controlled cars.

In acknowledgement of the game's new platform, however, Re-Volt Classic developer Big Bit has touched up the visuals to make those slight chassis shine on your Retina display. Big Bit has also included three different control setups for players to test drive.

Furthermore, Re-Volt Classic features game modes beyond the standard Championship and Single Race options. These include a Time Trial mode and the daredevil-delighting Stunt Arena.

You can take control of Re-Volt Classic for £3.99 / $5.99 now. Batteries are not included.
