Ratatouille has so far done quite a bit of good for the humble rat's reputation. According to reports, in France it's become the must-have pet. Before long, people will probably have forgiven them for the plague just because a cartoon example of the species cooks up a mean risotto.

Continuing the newfound love for the rodents, THQ is releasing the pointy-nosed little critters onto DS in Ratatouille: Food Frenzy. Unlike its previous Ratatouille game, which was a mix of platforming and cooking across the console formats (and a good one, too – check out our review), this is a puzzle game created exclusively for DS.

In it, you help Remy and his friends impress critics to get La Ratatouille a five-star restaurant rating by playing through variations of seven mini-games in order to cook up dishes. All of the DS's features are used, so you'll be stirring pans with the stylus and blowing into the microphone to cool food down.

It's all sounding really quite tasty. Unfortunately, there are no screenshots of the game in action yet (just a packshot) but we hope to have some soon. Ratatouille: Food Frenzy is scheduled for release on February 15th 2008.
