Railroad Ink Challenge is a beautiful digital adaptation of the hit tabletop game, out now for iOS and Android

Railroad Ink Challenge, the chill-out digital version of the critically acclaimed tabletop game, has now officially launched for iOS and Android devices. With its main goal of building railways to create transportation networks, it’s really “all about connections”.

Indie game developer and publisher Horrible Guild’s digital adaptation is a roll-and-write title that lets you connect exits to expand your transportation systems. While relaxing in nature, Railroad Ink Challenge is still, well, a challenge, so you’ll have to plan your route carefully to either beat your own high score or best like-minded networking aficionados around the world.

In seven rounds, you’ll need to find the best routes without leaving any connections open to avoid getting penalized. There will also be special structures you can connect to boost your points, like duplicating routes, scoring extra points with Stations, and special University routes to name a few.

There’s just something about watercolour-style imagery that brings a meditative vibe to the whole thing. Intuitive and with beautifully designed visual aesthetics, the game is a satisfying, Zen-like experience that also features 100% asynchronous multiplayer challenges so you can play with your friends no matter where they are in the world. There’s a cross-platform online mode plus Global Online leaderboards too if you’re feeling a little competitive.
