We don't usually do release announcements, but the sun's shining and we're in a generous mood. So here goes: publisher Agetec has announced the release of its latest puzzler, Puzzle Guzzle – in the US, at least. The game was revealed late last year and there's no word on a European outing just yet but we're hoping it's just a matter of time.

The game promises to be a new type of puzzler. One that "makes you think in ways that no other game does," according to Agetec producer Mark Johnson. Its premise has you creating complete shapes which follow diagonal angles and with an opponent – either human or AI – trying to foil you at every step.

In time-honoured puzzler tradition, as you progress through each puzzle differently shaped pieces are thrown at you increasingly quickly for you to find a place for, and your opponents become ever more devious.

Interestingly, survive to defeat your opponents and you steal their appearance, features and special abilities, meaning the game is constantly changing and evolving.

Hundreds of challenges are promised and there are also already over 50 challenges available for free download as well. So players certainly won't be completing it in a hurry.

It's an intriguing concept and once we get news of the game's UK appearance, we'll let you know.
