Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition gets a new trailer
Is it a match-three? Is it a dungeon-crawler?
If you were hanging on for a Western release of Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, then you can breathe a sigh of relief. Nintendo has released a new trailer and given a release date of May 8th in Europe and May 22nd in the US.
It looks like a mix of match-three puzzling and dungeon-crawling, with turn-based combat and a Pokémon-esque monster catching and evolving element. Sounds odd, but it might work.
It boasts over 80 characters and more than 250 monsters to make up your party, though I'm not sure Fire Flower Mario really counts as a separate character. Still, plenty of choice when you assemble your dream team.
To sweeten the deal, Nintendo is throwing in Puzzle & Dragons Z as well, so that's one more crazy Japanese mash-up game for your buck.
